Rosalinda M. Diaz, 71 of Grandview went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the age of 71.

Rosalinda was born on November 23, 1946 in Sunnyside, Washington to Alonzo and Ramona Magañas. Her early childhood years were spent in Grandview except for a couple of months every winter when her parents would travel to California for work. She attended grade school in Grandview and California. In 1960 her parents made Grandview their permanent home and Rosalinda graduated from Grandview High School with the class of 1965.

During her teenage years she helped out her mom and dad by working alongside them in the fields, taking care of her younger siblings and working part-time at the 88 cent store in Sunnyside. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music. Her favorite tv show was American Bandstand and she loved The Beatles, Fats Domino, and Chubby Checker.

In 1963 she met the love of her life Carlos M. Diaz and they married in 1966. Rosalinda and Carlos had 2 daughters Martha & Melinda and brought their children up in the Catholic faith. Rosalinda enjoyed working in the yard, constantly upgrading the landscape and planting all kinds of flowers and trees. Rosalinda retired in 1992 from the Grandview school district where she worked as a psychological aid with Mr. Fisher. Therefore, she had the time to spend on all of her projects. Rosalinda was always aware of news, world politics, housing trends, etc. Rosalinda was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church, early member of the Accion Catolica, and the Guadalupanas and she was a part of the Cruzillista movement.

Rosalinda is survived by her husband Carlos Diaz, two daughters, Martha (Andy) and Melinda, all of Grandview. She is also survived by 6 beloved grandchildren Anthony (Olga), Matthew (Yvonne), Jovana (Jose), CJ (Samantha), Breanna (Jesus), Rebekah and by 13 beloved great grandchildren. In addition to all the kids who came by to her home and knew her as Buela. She is preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Ramona Magañas, and her brother Joe.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Grandview, WA. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Grandview, WA with the burial to follow at the Grandview Cemetery Grandview, WA.
