Santos G. Medina Sr., age 82, of Moses Lake, WA and former Lower Valley resident passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Othello, WA. Santos was born on September 16, 1936 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico the son of Gitana (Gevara) and Luis Medina. He received his education in Mexico. Santos and Rebecca Olvera were married in Edinburg, Texas and were blessed with seven children. In the late 1950’s the Medina Family came to the Washington settling in Granger, Royal City and later to Othello. Santos loved to fish and hunt. He was a jack of all trades including carpentry and being a mechanic. Santos took pride in his yard work, garden and walnut trees. Santos was an avid sports fan, especially the Bronco’s (sorry Seahawk fans) and loved to watch his children and grandchildren participate in school sporting activities.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Olvera Medina of Othello, WA, six children Rosemary Medina, Luis Medina and Santos all of Moses Lake, WA. Bernardo Medina (Emma) and Benny Medina of Othello and Miguel Medina of Kennewick. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Benny Medina and brother, Rito Medina.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA with the Funeral Service to start at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.
