Susan K Colyn

Susan K. Colyn, a lifelong resident of Sunnyside, WA, was released from this world and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on January 21, 2019. Susan joins her parents, John and Katherine (Eggebeen) Colyn and many treasured friends and family members who preceded her in death. She leaves behind many friends, a sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Susan enjoyed her early years, riding horses and visiting her family who lived across the street from her childhood home. After graduating from Sunnyside High School in 1975, Susan completed nurses training and pursued a career as a Registered Nurse. She worked in a multitude of care facilities throughout Yakima County and as a Washington State Contracted Nurse Provider serving people in their homes, and lastly she worked as a Community Nurse Consultant for Aging and Long Term Care. Susan was a dedicated helper, healer, advocate, cheerleader, comforter and caregiver. Not only did she care for people, she cared for her beloved companions, Katy, Ginger, Autumn and Sunshine. She made sure that her outside animal family of cats, birds and squirrels were also fed and doted upon. Susan was most successful in helping both animals and people who were left out or left behind. Susan held tightly to her convictions and belief in our Lord and Savior throughout her life. If you knew Susan, take a moment to reflect on her goodness and the impact she had on your own life. In this moment you will know how deeply and sincerely she cared for you. A graveside memorial for friends and family will be held January 25, 2019 at 2:30 pm at the Sunnyside Memorial Gardens. Please bring a favorite scripture or memory to share.
