Wayne Lee “Blackie” Crawford, of the Prosser/Grandview area, born on April 9, 1937 in Ellensburg, Washington, to the late Eva B. (Fridley) Crawford and the late Earl H. Crawford passed away at age 80 on February 24, 2018 in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Prosser High School in 1956. Blackie served in the Army from 1955 to 1962. He was self employed in the Agriculture industry with Earl Crawford and Sons as a farmer until retiring in 2001 and later worked for Wycoff Farms as a farmer/parts runner until retiring in 2014. Blackie was the beloved husband of Leigh Ann (Suhadolink) Crawford. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Duane “Blondie” Crawford. Blackie is survived by his wife of 60 years Leigh Ann Crawford, son Ronald (Brenda) Crawford; daughters, Jeanne (Mike) Blasdel and Deanne (Gary) Moore; brother, Robert Crawford; grandchildren, Jacob Blasdel, Hilary (Cody) Bruns, Dustin Crawford, Shelby Moore, Madison Moore and Harrison Moore; and great grandchild Blakely Bruns. Blackie had a passion for spending time with his family and especially watching his grandchildren participate in various sports and activities. He was known as “Grandpa Blackie” to his grandchildren and they were his pride and Joy. He loved watching NASCAR racing and the Seahawks.
