Alfonso Gonzalez

 Alfonso Gonzalez of Sunnyside, WA passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on November 23, 2023. Alfonso was born on September 3rd 1945,in Michoacán, Mexico to Abigail Gonzalez and Angelita Maldonado. Alfonso meet and married Lucinda In Michoacán Mex, in 1974 and have 5 children. Alfonso was the oldest of 8 siblings .Alfonso, since a young age was a hard worker, always helping his father with work. In the US Alfonso worked in the fields picking various fruits. He was one of the first people to have and operate a food truck “Taqueria Tere” in Sunnyside, where he sold his delicious tacos. Alfonso also worked doing maintenance and yard work for various apartment buildings around the Sunnyside area,  Alfonso loved doing yard work around his house always keeping his yard looking great, and enjoyed watching his vegetables grow ,fishing was one of his favorite hobbies, he loved frying up his catch to his family. Alfonso also enjoyed going to the safari where he would play pool and come back home with Safari Food, he also enjoyed playing conquian with his niece and sister. Alfonso proceed his death by his parents, 3 bothers and 1 sister. Alfonso is survived by his wife Lucinda of nearly 50 years, his 5 children Gela (Armando) Zarco of Outlook, Jorge (rosy) Gonzalez of Sunnyside Lorena (Eduardo)Valdivia of Seattle, Jose (Alida) Gonzalez of North Carolina, Javier (Elizabeth) Gonzalez of Sunnyside 10 grandchildren (Herminia, Armando, Jorge, Joan, Marley, Eden, Jacob, Romeo, Abigail, Alexia) and two great grand children, (Cesar, Ezequiel).  The family would like to send a special thank you to the Heart-links Hospice Nurse and to his caregiver Bertha Mendoza.  He will be greatly missed by Many niece nephews friends and family, he will be greatly missed by his beloved dog shino. 

Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be Recited at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, WA  with burial to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Alfonso's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com     Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
