Barbara A. McCall Obituary

Barbara Ann (Like) McCall, known to all as Barb, was born April 7, 1940 in Grand Glaise Arkansas.  Barb and Del married on October 11, 1958 in Grandview Washington and lived in Whitstran.  Barb passed away on January 27, 2025.

Barb was a loving wife to Del and a loving mother to their four children.  Her radiant smile lit up any room and her infectious laugh will not be forgotten.  She enjoyed going to the Oregon coast, trips to the casino (joint) with her daughters, camping trips, cruise to Alaska and dancing. She especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, family reunions, visits from her family, getting hugs and catching up on family activities.

At the age of 9; Barb, her mother Dorothy and sister Betty traveled to Sunnyside Washington by train to join Barb’s father Byron who was working at the Hanford Site.  This train ride took the Like family past property on Pioneer Road that would eventually become the homestead for the family, spending 66 years married to Del and raising their children.  They had a dairy farm, with pigs, chickens, horses and a multitude of other animals.  Barb was a housewife but also worked at Prosser Packers for several years. Barb loved living in the country, helping with feeding the calves, baking, canning, cross stitching and caring for her children.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents Byron and Dorothy Like and sister Betty Rabe along with son Delbert Ray Jr. and son-in-law Joe Vance. Barb is survived by her three daughters Lorri Vance (Bill), Teresa Tinker (Dennis) and Brenda Wright (Simon).  Grandchildren Travis Vance (Diane), Jamie McKenzie (Stewart), Nicole Tinker (Dustin), Kristin Farmer (Mark) and Josh Ingalls along with great grandchildren Isaiah, Michael (Yadira), Brayden, Reese and Halo.
