Baudelia Alaniz, 82 of Mabton, WA passed away on June 3rd, 2025, at Sunnyside Astria Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born in Edinburg, TX on February 1st, 1943, to Joaquin Hernandez and Maria Angelita Herrera. She married the love of her life Jesus Alaniz in Mabton WA on July 9th, 1960. She enjoyed camping amongst her family, and cooking tamales for family gatherings. She also enjoyed watching football, especially her favorite team the Seattle Seahawks, attending church and listening to Christian music. She is survived by her children, Jesus (Evelia) Alaniz, Janie (James) Appling, Julia (Steve) Garret, Angie (Noe) Rodriguez, Basilio (Anid) Alaniz, Joaquin Alaniz, Alejandro (Hannah) Alaniz, as well as Sandra Garcia, nephews Daniel and Javier Garza. Also, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A brother Samuel Hernandez, sisters Noemi Gonzalez and Oralia Gutierrez. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Jaime Alaniz, her brothers, Isreal, Alejandro, Noe, Oscar, and a sister Leticia. As well as nieces Lisa Gonzalez, and Veronica Vargas, who were like daughters to her. She will be greatly missed by friends, family, and friends who became family.
Viewing and Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. A Graveside Service will be Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at Mabton Cemetery in Mabton, WA.
