Billy Rue "Bill" Borland passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in Grandview, Washington, at the age of 92. Born on July 14, 1933, in Hodge, Louisiana. Bill received his early education in Louisiana before moving to Washington State at the age of 15 with his Uncle Morris, Aunt Betsy, and their family. This move marked the beginning of a new chapter that would shape the rest of his life.
In 1952 he married Rosalie Cummings and had two daughters, Kathleen and Kay.
Later in life he married Sue Vinyard, the love of his life he always said.
Bill was a jack of all trades in his young days, demanding pursuit that reflected his strength and determination later in life, he transitioned into agriculture and proudly ran a custom hay business. He worked alongside his stepdaughter Vinnie Robertson in this endeavor, building not only a livelihood but also lasting memories rooted in dedication and family.
Bill's personality was as vibrant as the landscapes he worked. He was most known for his great smile, teasing behavior, and outgoing nature. Always up for a good time or a hearty conversation, Bill had an uncanny ability to make friends wherever he went rarely could he go anywhere without running into someone who knew him. He found joy in simple pleasures: watching and reading old westerns, country dancing, telling a good story, and savoring a slice of pie.
In his final days. Bill spent time reminiscing about fishing trips journeys to Arizona with Sue, the hay fields he worked so tirelessly in, and the many legs he pulled always with a laugh close behind.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his daughters Kathy (Ken) Whitner and Kay (Rod) Weddle; stepdaughter Vinnie Robinson, Tom and Colleen Balay. Les Robinson and Kimberly Vinyard (deceased). Brothers Bobby (Sara) Borland and Donnes Borland; sisters Ella Ray Northcutt and Suzie Rowe; add several meaningful cousins, thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and twenty-nine great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Doyle and Louella Borland Wife Sue Borland and sister Betty Pearl.
A man of enduring spirit and warm-hearted, mischief, Bill leaves behind a legacy of resilience, humor, and community.
