Brenda Kay (Friend) Schmidling, 58, of Sunnyside passed into the loving arms of her Savior on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Brenda was born to Darrell and Judy Friend of Outlook on January 15, 1966. Brenda spent her childhood in Outlook. She referred to her childhood as "Mister Rogers Neighborhood" because it was wonderful. Brenda attended Outlook Church of the Brethren and learned to love Jesus by the example of the family around her.
Brenda was born into her purpose, which was loving people. She collected friends her entire life, not just acquaintances; but authentic friends who she maintained lifelong relationship with. Brenda was proud to be a Christian. She spent many hours learning about the Lord and encouraged us all to do likewise.
Brenda is survived by Bruce Wentz, her life partner, Sunnyside; Nathan Schmidling, son, Medford, Or; Victoria (Tori) Jo Schmidling, daughter, Sunnyside; Kane Rodriguez, grandson, Sunnyside. She is also survived by her mother, Judy Friend, Outlook and her sister, Natalie (Grant) Norwood, Granger.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Friend.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, March 18, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.
