Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Canelina R. Rodriguez went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Canelina was born on June 6, 1944 in Weslaco, Texas the daughter of Celdonia A. and Refugio Robles. On July 31, 1961 Canelina, married Carlos Rodriguez in Sunnyside, WA. For many years she worked in agriculture, as well as caring for her family. Canelina could look at something and either paint or draw it. Besides being an artist, she loved planting flowers of all varieties and gardening. She enjoyed dancing to Mexican Music and listening to Elvis, The Village People and Roy Orbiso. Canelina attended the Toppenish Calvary Church.
Canelina is survived by her loving husband, Carlos M. Rodriguez Sr. of Mabton, WA., children: Carlos Rodriguez Jr. (Laticia), Eddie Rodriguez (Wendy), Sally Saldana (Mars), Mitchel Rodriguez (Mari), Bobby Rodriguez (Angelica). She is also survived by 35 plus grandchildren, 40 plus great grandchildren, brothers Robert Robles, Romy Robles and sisters Janie Salinas, Susy Robles Valenzuela, Mary Partida and Lupe Ruelas. She is preceded in death by her parents: Refujo and Celdonia Robles, sibilings: Lupita Robles, Issaac Robles, Manuel Robles, Olivia Perez, and Carmen Leal.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Evening Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Burial will be at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
