Carole Ann Lange

Carole Ann Bishop was born 11/28/1942 in Yakima Washington, the first child of Lucile (Kutsch) and Jerry Bishop.  She was raised in the Green Valley on the family dairy farm.  She attended elementary school at Wendel Phillips, Sunnyside Jr. High, and graduated from Sunnyside High School in the class of 1961.
Carole married Wesley Eugene “Gene” Lange on March 18 1963 in Boise Idaho. Gene was quickly deployed to Korea while Carole continued her education earning her AA at Yakima Valley Community College. In 1964 She joined Gene at Fort Bliss Texas where they welcomed their daughter Laura in 1965.  The family relocated back to Washington at the end of the year joining both of their family generational farms.  In 1966 they added their son Michael. 
Carole was a restaurant server, homemaker, 4-H leader and librarian for the cities of Sunnyside and Grandview. Carole’s seamstress talents were fine tuned when she worked with a curtain and drapery specialty shop. This proved to be beneficial in her home life, as she made clothing for the entire family. Her other passions included canning, gardening and genealogy. She was immensely proud of her research of all family ties including both families pioneer roots and the property that was broke before Washington became a state. Carole was a Daughter of the American Revolution and a direct descendant of Mary Chilton, the first child off the Mayflower. 
Throughout the years Carole could be seen driving silage or wheat truck, collecting agates, and traveling to any location that she could do more family research. 
Carole is survived by her husband of 63 years Gene Lange, her two children Laura Perry (Mike), Michael Lange (Barb), 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Loren Bishop and Dale Bishop (Diane), Sister in laws Gretchen Lange and Debi (Jim) Foster as well as generations of nieces, nephews and dozens of cousins. 

Viewing and Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
