Charles James (Jim) Sewell passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Sharon, in 2023.
Jim is survived by his children, James Lannard and Brenda Lannard; stepchildren, Dana (John) Fisk and Matt Stewart; grandchildren, Danielle, Luke, and Dylan Stewart; Ian, Nolan, Leah, and Tessa Fisk; and Evan and Avery Lannard; and great-granddaughter Frankie Fisk. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean (Bryan) Doan, Judy Hamilton, and Marianne (Blair) Potter.
Jim was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force on the Gaza Strip in 1960. He then worked in city administration in British Columbia before moving to Grandview in 1985. Jim served as Grandview City Administrator for 21 years. After retiring in 2006, he was elected Grandview Port Commissioner, a position he held until this June. Jim worked tirelessly to better his community.
