Christina Rendon Obituary

On June 4, 1977, a beautiful soul was born on earth. Christina Lynn Rendon was born to Martha and Felipe Rendon in Toppenish, WA. Christina spent her early and school aged years in Sunnyside where she attended Sunnyside schools and made many lifelong friends. On March 20, 1995, Christina met her very first love, her 1st born son Carlos. Christina struggled as a young, single mother but did the best she could with what she had. Just a little over a year after Carlos was born, in 1996 Christina was blessed with her 2nd son, Angel. Christina loved Angel so much that she ultimately sacrificed her feelings and made a choice that ensured Angel didn’t have to accompany her through the struggles that a young, single mother had to.
On April 12, 1996, Christina met the man who would turn out to be her husband, her provider, her protector, the father of her other children, and the man that held her hand when she took her last breath, Mark Gourneau. Together Christina and Mark were blessed with Cassandra (Lala) born in 1998 and Rashelle (Lulu) born in 2002. Christina and Mark were married on July 3, 2004, and shortly after welcomed their son Marquis in October, then their baby Genesis (GG) in 2011. Christina and Mark were very involved with their children’s sports and education and were proud that all of their children graduated high school. Christina and her family were involved with Impala’s Car Club and loved to attend car shows. She was a diehard Patriots fan and rarely missed watching a game. Christina was loved by many people, but especially by her sisters Cory, Belle, Jenny, Alicia, Laurie, and Diana. Christina enjoyed any and all the family time spent with them and cherished the daily calls, Snaps and texts from them. Christina also loved her visits with her son Carlos’ family, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. The year 2025 brought a lot of ups and downs for Christina. In February Christina lost her son Carlos which left her heartbroken. Soon after in March Christina was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer which rapidly progressed to stage 4. Her diagnosis didn’t stop or slow her down though. Christina continued to attend events, spend time with friends and family and never let anyone feel sad for her. She smiled through the pain of losing her 1st love and her diagnosis. On May 31, Christina and Mark renewed their vows surrounded in love by friends and family. By mid 2025 Christina had to have several hospital visits and stays in Seattle, and during those stays her Uncle Rick was there daily. Christina shared that Uncle Rick was her favorite relative, and she remembered when he would take her to school on his motorcycle. Christina cherished the lifelong bond she had with him. Christina always spoke her mind, and she made sure to call up her closest friends to find the chisme she missed out on during her hospital stays. She will truly be missed by anyone who knew her.
Christina is preceded in death by her father Felipe Rendon, her son Carlos Rendon, her nephew Avery Juarez, and her sister Diana Rocha. She is survived by her mother and step father Martha and Roberto Rocha, her husband Mark Gourneau, her children: Angel Rendon and his 3 sons, Cassandra, Rashelle, Marquis and Genesis Gourneau, her daughter in law Tiffany and her 2 children, her sisters Cory and Belle Rendon, Jenny, Alicia and Laurie Rocha, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Comadres/Compadres, friends and relatives who she loved and cherished as well as her pets Annabelle the Chihuahua and Zoey the Rottweiler.
