Claire B George

Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Claire B. George went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at the age of 94.  Claire was born in 1930 in Alto, Texas the daughter of John Earl and Mary Vera (Dominy) Cates.  Claire received her education in Alto, TX.  She later moved to Grandview, WA where she met and later married the love of her life, August Ike George in 1953.  Claire and Ike farmed in the Sunnyside Area until his death in 1984.   She continued farming with her son Alan.  Claire enjoyed visiting with family and friends, cards, books and working in her beautiful yard. 

Claire will be greatly missed by her daughters Melinda Castle and Sheila Omlin.  She is also survived by two grandchildren Bill Omlin (Jackalyn) and Matt Omlin.   She is preceded in death by her husband August Ike, son Alan George and her siblings. 

Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at  Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Claire’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
