Clara Marie Peters went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2021 at the age of 86. Clara was born to Peter and Clara Reitsma on November 24, 1934 in Worthington Minnesota.
Clara spent her childhood and received her education in Minnesota. Clara attended church in Chandler Minnesota where she met the love of her life George Peters in catechism class. George and Clara were married on September 1, 1953. Together they began a life full of kids and adventure. George and Clara moved to Washington State in 1960. While raising her children she began her career at Hillcrest Manor in Sunnyside. She worked there until she retired. In her retirement years, she enjoyed canning, baking, church, and watching her grandchildren grow.
She is survived by her children, Doris and Jim Hendrikse, Norma and Alan Van Beek, Darrell and Marie Peters, Rod and Linda Peters, Evon and Steve Morris, Randy and Tammy Peters, Alvin Peters and fiancé Tina, Brian and Amy Peters, and Carla and Donnie Crane. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a sister Janette VandenBosch.
She is proceeded in death by her husband George, one son Vernon, and one grandson Alexander. She is also proceeded in death by her 3 sisters and 3 brothers. As well as 2 brothers and 2 sisters in infancy.
Viewing will be at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside on Sunday, August 29th from 3:00 – 5:00pm. Graveside services will be at Lower Valley Gardens on Monday August 30th at 9:00am. The memorial service will follow at Zillah Faith Community Church at 10:00am.
