Connie Fuller Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, with her daughter, son and good friends by her side.  Connie Jean Fuller was born February 24, 1947 in Marshall, Arkansas to Doyle and Ona Mae Camp.

Connie attended Granger School District in elementary through high school.  She received her high school diploma from Downing, CA.   Throughout her youth she followed the fruit with her family from Arkansas to Washington.  The family lived in Crewport, WA before setting in Granger, WA.  As a teenager, she worked at Joey’s Drive Inn in Granger where she met the love of her life.  Connie was in awe with this handsome man that she saw at the drive through window.  To say their love was a whirlwind romance is an understatement.  They knew each other less than 2 days before eloping to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on July 7, 1965.  This marriage resulted in three children Brenda, Joe E (Joey) and Joe A (J.J.).  Connie was a homemaker while her children were growing up.  She later ventured out into the workforce working at Twin City Foods and various local doctors’ offices.  Once her grandson (Michael) was born she traded the outside workforce to care for him.  Connie then began to babysit a few other children until they all started school.  Joe and Connie were a longtime member of the Lower Valley Canyon Crawlers.  She and her family could be found jeeping in the mountains on weekends or attending jeep play days in Granger and surrounding areas.  In addition, mom could be found having coffee with her parents and friends at DB’s in Sunnyside.

Mom and dad decided it was time to go back to their roots and packed up what belongings they could put in their car and van and relocated to Fort Smith, AR in 1998.  As their daughter always joked “mom and dad decided to run away”.  Connie found comfort working outside of the house in Arkansas as a home health aide and in a retirement apartment complex.  Due to health reasons, they moved back to Washington in 2015.

Connie is survived daughter Brenda Fuller-Johnson, son Joe E. (Adrienne) Fuller, grandchildren Michael (Katie) Johnson, Steven Curry, Antonio Neal, Dominique Fuller, Brianna Fuller and Cody Fuller.  Great grandsons Myles and Nolan Johnson.  In addition to many lifelong friends and family.  She is preceded in death by the love of her life Jay (August 21, 2023), son Joe Albert (JJ), parents, in-laws, a brother and sister.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Heath Care Center, Heartlinks Hospice and Palliative Care, Weaver Family Medicine, and Sunnyside Fire Department.  We appreciate the compassion each of you showed our mom and grandma.

Mom, you are no longer in pain.

“You will always be in our heart…because in there you’re still alive”

“This is not good-bye but see you later”

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
