David Garcia, 73, of Sunnyside, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 after a long illness. David lived his life the best way he new how and left this earth loving his children and wishing the best for them. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.
David was born on December 19, 1950 to Cristobal and Gumersinda Garcia in Sabinas, Coahuila. After David graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1972, he went on and studied at YVCC.
David went on to have 3 children, Savannah Garcia, Jeff Douglas, and Kyle Garcia, whom he loved dearly.
David was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had a wonderful sense of humor and was full to the brim with knowledge gained through life experiences. David received his pilot license as he loved to be up in the air looking down at the earth. He also enjoyed reading books, poetry, cooking (or eating Chile Colorado from El Conquistador) and talking to his children.
David was preceeded in death by his parents Cristobal and Gumersinda Garcia, and a brother Jaime Garcia.
He is survived by his three children, siblings Martha (Catarino) Castillo, Paula Mercado, Chris Garcia, Elsa (Raul) Garcia-Villarreal, Lidia (Harland) Lippold and Diana (Jason) Lyczewski and also numberous nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA. Graveside service will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at Outlook Cemetery in Outlook, WA.
