David Soria Obituary

David Guel Soria passed away on November 10, 2021, from Covid-19 pneumonia.  He was born in Sunnyside, Washington along with his twin sister on February 25, 1973. David is the son of Jose and Maria Luisa Guel Soria, immigrants from Mexico who came to the United States to provide a better life for their future children.  He was raised as a farmworker and David pursued employment in agriculture the rest of his life with many years spent as an employee of Bleyhl’s Farm Service.  He was proud of his contribution to farmers in the surrounding area and the relationships he made within his employment.

He spent his entire life in Grandview, Washington and attended all 12 years of school there.

David was the most supportive brother anyone could ever have.  All his life he was surrounded by four sisters who cared and relied on their brother.  When all around you, the world could kick you and push you around, you could count on him to do the opposite.  Many people in his acquaintance will remark how friendly and considerate he was as a person.

In 2001, he and Julie Koehler met and married in 2004.  In 2003, his greatest pride and joy came to fruition.  David became a father to a beautiful daughter, Kourtnee and she became the center of his world. With almost every decision, her well-being was his every consideration.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Luisa and an older brother, Jose Jr.  He leaves behind his wife of 17 years and his daughter.  David’s sisters:  Paula, Maria Elena, Manuela and his twin, Teresa will forever hold his memory in their heart and look forward to the day when we are reunited for eternity.  David also helped raise two more children, Lecie Owens (Ryan Nehls) and Cody Owens and his two beautiful grandchildren, Annalleise and Abilene Nehls, who enjoyed spending fun times with “My David”.  As much as he would complain of how tired he felt after a long day at work, they could convince him to join them in their play.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.  Those wishing to sign David’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
