Demetrio Eduardo Hernandez passed away suddenly at Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA on July 6, 2026 at the age of 32 years.
Born in Sunnyside, Washington, he was the son of Juan Maciel and Irma Bissonette (Stepfather Richard Bissonette). He graduated from Sunnyside High School and pursued a degree at Perry Tech Institute.
Demetrio was an avid reader and could be often seen with a book in his hand. He was very charismatic and liked to make others laugh. He will be remembered for his dancing and smile. Demetrio was a “warrior” and fought through battles with his health from the age of 15. He remained strong in his faith that God would keep him safe.
He is survived by Juan Maciel(father), Irma Bissonette(mother), Richard Bissonette (stepfather), Emily Bissonette(sister), Aliyah Bissonette(sister), Manny Maravilla(nephew), Ariella Maravilla(niece). He is predeceased by Eduardo Jesse Hernandez(grandfather), Irma Angelica Hernandez(grandmother), Elijah Charles Hernandez(brother).
Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA with interment at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
