Dennis Carl Weets, the son of Harm and Bertha (Janssen) Weets) was born on May 21, 1947 at Sibley Iowa.  Dennis spent his young years on the farm at Sibley and later moving with the family to Bertha, MN.  At a young age Dennis worked for neighboring farms and later in the sheet metal business with his brother, Fred.  In 1966 brother Jim recruited Dennis in the Marines where he served 13 months in the Viet Nam conflict .  On May 9, 1969 Dennis was united in marriage to Janice Wynia at Sioux Center, Iowa.  They began their life together in Worthington, MN and in 1973 moved to the Sunnyside area.  Dennis worked in construction, sheet metal, farming and started his own metal manufacturing business, K & D Machine, with his son, Aaron.  He was always thinking of how to make something better or more efficient.  Dennis loved hunting and fishing with his sons, enjoyed nature and the outdoors, but his love for his children and grandchildren was the greatest.  He was proud of their accomplishments.   On May 24th Dennis was admitted to Kadlec Hospital where he died on June 15, 2024.
