Dolores (Dee) Saiz Ramsey

On June 22nd, 2022, Dolores (Dee) Saiz Ramsey passed away peacefully. Dee was born February 27th,1943 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Juan (John) Maldonado Saiz and Maria (Mary) Antonia Ibarra Saiz.

The family moved to Washington when she was 3 years old. In the 5th grade her teacher, Mr. Bellamy, made her sit with classmate Fred Ramsey because they spent so much time talking to each other in class. At the end of the year, Mr. Bellamy told Dee to invite him to her wedding with Fred! She graduated with the Grandview High School class of 1961. 

Dolores married Fred Ramsey April 3rd, 1965. She attended Western Washington University where she studied business and bookkeeping. She opened her own Mediterranean furniture shop in Bellingham for several years. She was later employed as an office manager and accountant for law firms in Seattle and Olympia until her retirement.

Dee enjoyed belly dancing, crocheting, and she volunteered for the local hospital in her spare time. Later in Dee’s life, she was blessed with multiple grandchildren, and they were a source of constant joy.

Dolores is survived by her husband Fred, their children Lara (Andrew Eigenrauch) and Alexander, her grandchildren Zia and Justus Eigenrauch, Hunter and Hanna Ramsey, her sisters Maryann Woodruff, Rachel (Michael) Saiz Runestrand, Sylvia (David) Sheridan, Lisa (Mike) Nichols, and Imogen Noel Alexandria Ramey Ramsey

and her brother Johnnie (Claris) Saiz, 3 nieces and 7 nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her brother-in-law Woody Woodruff and nephew Greg Woodruff.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview on Monday, June 27th  at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview at 10am on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022.  Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery.  Those wishing to sign Dolores online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com
