Donna Fern Biggerstaff

Our beloved Donna Fern Biggerstaff went to see Jesus on May 26, 2022 at the age of 90 yrs old.  She is survived by son Ronald/wife Cindy; son George/wife Ronnett; and daughter Galeyn/husband Tom.  She proudly had 13 grand children, 26 great grand children, and 13 great-great grand children. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Woolery of Biggs, CA.  

She attended high school in Biggs, CA, and was active in Advanced Band, Advanced Glee club and Drama.  She was a professional Retail Clerk cashier for over 30 years.

Donna was married for life to Lloyd Biggerstaff on June 20, 1949.  She was widowed in March of 2001.

She had a great love of hunting/fishing/camping.  We have many memories of the backpacking trips with the horses and mules with her undying efforts on packing and preparing meals.  We had countless weekend family times together at the “Funny Farm” in Clearview, WA where we rode horses, raised a garden and chickens along with various other animals.

Donna had quite the sense of humor, often sarcastic but friendly.  She was very socially involved with her communities: The Firefighter’s Women’s Auxiliary, Quilting Club, Sunnyside Community Hospital Volunteer, The local food bank and Church activities

In 2006 Donna received a President’s Volunteer Service Award from the White House.  She also received a Lifetime Services Award certificate and pin for 10 years of over 4000 service hours serving throughout Yakima County.

The family want to especially thank Trudy Sylling, neighbor for 30+ yrs, for her friendship, and outgoing care and assistance with Donna during her residency at Sunnyside Assisted Living.

Donna Fern Spitler-Biggerstaff was truly loved, an inspiration to many, and will be greatly missed.
