Dora Orona Obituary

Dora R Orona, 94, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2025, at her home in Sunnyside, WA, after a short illness.

Dora was born on 24th December 1930 in Alamo, Texas, to Josepha and Arcardio Ramos. She received her early education in Alamo, Texas, and worked as an agricultural worker, often traveling to various Midwestern states. She married Manuel M Orona in early 1948 and soon after decided to move to Washington State, where they settled down and raised a family.  Dora continued to work in agriculture, including various seasonal warehouses in the lower Yakima Valley, until her retirement.  In 1955, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and began her Christian service with the Pentecostal Holiness Church, “El Buen Pastor," and the Grandview-Spanish Church of God.

She enjoyed cooking and was very much into gardening and flowers.  She was most especially proud of her roses.
Her family paid tribute to her. Dora was a woman of prayer, constantly praying for her family. She had a big heart and was willing to help anyone who needed help; she will be sorely missed.’

Dora is survived by her four children, Jessie, Joe (Eulalia), Rosemary (Armando) Garcia, Lorie Ann (Tony) Santoy, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel M Orona, her son, Samuel Orona, her parents, Arcadio and Josepha Ramos, and her two sisters, Elena Montiel and Rosario Hernandez.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews from here, extending to Texas and Mexico
