Dorothy Cole Obituary

Dorothy Ann (Hill) Cole, age 75 of West Richland, entered into rest on May 27, 2022 at Hospice in Kennewick.  She was born at Sunnyside Hospital on March 17, 1947 to Paul A. Hill and Nellie R. (Roberson) Hill.  She grew up in Prosser and graduated from Prosser High School in 1965.

After high school, Dorothy graduated from cosmetology school in Yakima and worked until her marriage in 1968 to Gerald V. Cole.  They lived in Pasco until their divorce when Dorothy returned to live and work in Prosser.  She worked at Sun Terrace caring for elderly, cleaning homes and offices until she retired due to poor health.

A longtime member of the Prosser Presbyterian Church, Dorothy loved the Lord.  Her greatest joy was being a homemaker, raising her sons, loving her grandchildren, and having long talks with her Sissy and best friend (Patti Talmadge) and lifelong friend Della Minchew.  She is survived by her sons Craig (Carolyn),  Darren (Angela) Cole.  She has four grandchildren:  Faith, Grace, Taylor Ann, and Jason Cole.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Hill and beloved son Jason A. Cole.

A Graveside service will be held at the East Prosser Cemetery on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm, where she will be laid to rest beside her son Jason.  A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 pm, Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Dorothy’s online memorial book do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
