Douglas H. Shelton, age 75 longtime Grandview resident and businessman passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Seattle, WA. Doug was born on May 26, 1949 in Toppenish, WA the son of Albert Roy and Shirley (Newman) Shelton. He received his education in Granger and graduated with the class of 1967. Doug serviced four years in the United States Coast Guard during Vietnam War. Following his military discharge Doug returned to the Granger and Toppenish area to begin his career in cabinetmaking. On December 31, 1979 he married the love of his life, Renee Newman in Prosser, WA. Doug started his own business Douglas H. Shelton Cabinetry in 1992. He and Renee have lived in Grandview for the last 48 years. Doug and Renee loved to go out to eat not only for the great food but to visit with friends. He also loved to play poker but was not very good at it.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Renee Shelton of Grandview, WA. His girl, Chyanne Diener Hurst and kids of Grandview, WA. One sister, Margaret Shelton of Sunnyside, WA and a brother, Ken Nulph of Spokane, WA. He is also survived by numerous cousins.
