Edith Carter Obituary

 

Edith (Edie) Ann Carter was a loving Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.  She grew up in the Yakima Valley where she met and married Oscar Carter and had 7 children.  She eventually moved to Oregon City where she raised her children and lived the rest of her life.  She worked in the nursing field for over 20 years.  She enjoyed counted cross stitching, sewing, crafting, camping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Edith was survived by her sisters Pam (Fred) Bauman and Arena (Bill) Wolford, and brother Calvin (Liz) McCullough of Oregon.  Sisters Rhesa Harmon Brooks and Ruth Van Hoose of Washington.  Brother James (Sally) Harmon of Virginia.  Son Samuel (Renée) Carter of Colorado.  Daughter Elizabeth Heintz, Son Ronald (Heemi) Carter of Washington.  Daughter Roxanne (Christopher) Lingle, Sons William Carter, Jonathon (Shawna) Carter of Oregon.  She has 14 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a gentle loving soul that brought sunshine to everyone’s heart.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Edith's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
