Enrique “Rick” Barrientes Garza was born December 13th, 1970 at the University Hospital in Seattle, Washington. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones January 9th, 2026. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 14th from 3pm to 8pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
Rick grew up in Seattle, Washington where he enjoyed breakdancing. He moved to eastern Washington when he was a teenager. Rick was most known for loving his children, fishing, barbecuing and music. He had a big collection of music and movies. Rick was great at doing impressions and quoting his favorite tv shows or movies. He was a very loving son who looked out and cared for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandma Guadalupe “Pita” Yarritu, his uncles Felipe Barrientes, Raymond Barrientes, Tony Barrientes, and his nephew Francisco Martinez. He is survived by his parents Enrique & Ofelia Garza; the mother of his children, Lorrie Garza; his children, Mariah Johnson (Cole Johnson), Storm Garza, Angel Fraser, and Enrique Aries Garza; his grandchildren, Marcel Garza, Amina Garza, Toby Garza, Eli Garza, and Scirus Jude Fraser; his sister Darlene Martinez (Evelinda Cavassos), his brothers Jesus Martinez and Johnny Garza (Jeannie Garza); seven nieces, eight nephews, and many more family and friends.
