Esperanza Vela Perales

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Esperanza Vela Perales, age 84, passed away September 5, 2025 in Sunnyside, WA. Esperanza was born on January 13,1941, in Victoria, Texas to the late Juan and Maria Vela. Esperanza was married to Robert Perales Sr, 8 children were born from this union, 2 sons from a previous relationship. The family traveled from Texas to California eventually setting their roots in Outlook, Wa. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She always thought of others first. Her flower garden was her pride and joy. "To know her was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Maria Vela, numerous siblings, her only daughter Rebecca Zaragoza, two of her son's, Felix Barrientes and Ernesto Perales.

She is survived by her husband Robert Perales Sr, her children, Luciano and Erma Barrientes, Robert Jr Perales, Francisco Perales, John and Christina Perales, Roger Perales, Lloyd and Jennifer Perales, Gilbert and Jeannie Perales. Esperanza had over 40 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express our thanks and appreciation to Beatriz Perales, Cande Alvarez, the nurses and staff from Heartlinks, and her caregiver Sandra. All who provided care, comfort and smiles to our Mother.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.   Funeral Service will  be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.   Burial will follow at the Outlook Cemetery.   Those wishing to sign Esperanza's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com    Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
