Eufemia "Emma" Guillen Obituary

Eufemia “Emma” Guillen age 87 of Grandview, WA passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Eufemia was born February 3, 1933 in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico the daughter of Higinio and Manuela (Pruneda) Capetillo. She had no formal schooling. Her only education was life itself and the want to always learn new things. On October 27, 1951 she married Fernando Guillen in San Carlos, Mexico. Eufemia was a farm laborer for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making beautiful blankets for her family. She also loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and gardening. Even through her sickness she made sure that her garden was watered. Eufemia attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, WA. 

Eufemia is survived by Elsa Guillen (Vicente Fuentes), Carlos X. Guillen (Alfia), Fernando Guillen Jr.  (Hopie), Miguel Guillen (Balvina), Ricardo Guillen (Elvia), Martin Guillen (Guadalupe), Marco Guillen, Marylou Villalon (Jaime), Gema Rodriguez (Roy) and  Edilia Guillen (Joe), She is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. siblings Cruz Reyes, Victoria Rosas and Pedro Saldivar. Eufemia is preceded in death by her husband Fernando Guillen, her parents Higinio and Manuela Capetillo, two brothers, Gilberto Capetillo and Antonio Capetillo.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.  Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, WA.  Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.
