In Loving Memory of Gary “Bud” Mount
March 28, 1944 – June 19, 2025
Gary “Bud” Mount was born on March 28, 1944, in Prosser, Washington, to Clifford and Elenora Mount. He passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, with his beloved family by his side.
Bud is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Janet, and their three sons: Mark, Chris (Charlene), and Kevin (Michelle). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren; Jasmine Estes, Jenna Taylor, Ryan Mount, Lexi Mount, Kayden Mount, Abigail Mount, and Isabelle Mount, and a great-grandfather to five. He is also survived by his brother Tony Mount (Andrea), as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws who were dear to him.
Bud spent over 30 years working for Seneca Foods/Tree Top in Prosser, WA, and was a lifelong resident of the Yakima Valley. He had a deep love for the mountains and cherished time spent at the family cabin on Chinook Pass, which he owned until early 2025. A true sports enthusiast, Bud was an avid supporter of the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, and Gonzaga Bulldogs. Above all, he was the biggest fan of any team his sons and grandchildren played on.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elenora; his brothers Mike and Morris; his sisters Shirley Irby, Joann Schneider, Carol Hyde, and Linda Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws Bryde and Lillian Bryant and his brother-in-law Jerry Schimpf.
Bud will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, and his unwavering support of those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and devotion that will be cherished forever.
