Gerald "Jerry" A. Deaton

Gerald  “Jerry” A. Deaton, age 77, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 in Sunnyside, WA  Jerry was born on November 16, 1946 in Toppenish, WA the son of Katherine (Fox) and William Virgil Deaton.  Jerry received his education in Granger, WA and graduated with the Granger High School Class of     .  He later served in the United States Air Force for six years.  Returning home from Germany Jerry, worked at many grocery stores in the meat department.  Before purchasing  a meat shop in Sunnyside in April of 1974 known as Jerry’s Valley Meats.  He was so proud to have owned, operated and served the families of the community for 50 years. 

Jerry is survived by one son, Andy Deaton (Angie),  brother Tom Deaton (Patty).  He is also survived by five grandchildren Calvin, Dunken, Logan, Ariella and Anakin.  One great grandchild.  Jerry is preceded in death by his son, Greg Deaton and  parents William and Katherine.
