Gregory James Eddie (58) passed away peacefully, Monday, August 28, 2023, at his home in Grandview in the presence of family and friends. Greg had recently been diagnosed with cancer and had kidney complications. Greg was born in Sunnyside, Washington, April 11, 1965, to Jim and Vicki (Quintus) Eddie.
In his youth, Greg enjoyed boating and fishing with family and especially the annual salmon fishing trip with the Jaquish family.
Greg attended Grandview schools until the middle of his senior year when he moved to Rockport, Texas, to live with his mother and graduated in June of 1983. After high school, he attended the University of Puget Sound and graduated in May 1987, with a degree in computer science and business.
After college, Greg worked as a flight attendant for Pam American Airways out of JFK Airport from 1988-1990. Greg’s next adventure led him to Portland working as a salesman for Sea Ray boats, then as an auditor for Key Bank. In 2014, Greg moved back to Grandview and worked as the CFO for Eddie Farms.
Smart, diligent, compassionate, creative, funny, civic minded, and Christian are words that describe Greg. He was an avid reader and was often found with a book or two in hand. He relished genuine and thoughtful conversations, but also enjoyed solitude. He was happiest near family and friends and often hosted holiday feasts as well as his annual apple cider press in the fall. Greg created lifelong friendships which was evident by his many visitors in recent weeks. A special thank you to friends, Elaine Lopez, Tim Roberts, and Mario de’Medici for their love and support during the last days of Greg’s life.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents Margaret and Ivan Eddie and Alice and Wally Quintus, and Uncle Jerry Quintus.
