Gregory J. Marple was born (to be wild) May 10th, 1958 and left us November 19th, 2024. The only son to adoring parents Joseph and Dorothy Marple. Lifelong Grandview resident, his early years found him working with his father on their farm, harvesting cherries and running their grape vineyard. He would continue to follow in his fathers footsteps to become an advanced certified mechanic. There wasn’t any vehicle he couldn’t fix. His need for speed had him building race cars from an early age. Marrying in his early twenties, he had two children that he cherished. Teaching them to be a bit wild at heart as well, racing motorcycles, shooting BB guns and sometimes jumping his Hemi orange Chevy Vega over the “hump” by the DQ and landing on the other side. Dukes of Hazzard style (much to their mom’s horror). They loved it though. He was a lover of animals, karaoke, Harley Davison motorcycles, banana popsicles, rock & roll and hot rods. He was the guy you’d call as your backup in a bar fight and also the guy you’d hope you weren’t on the other end of that bar fight. He was our dad, son, uncle, brother and friend. He will be missed by all those that truly knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and older sister Diane. He is survived by his daughter Charity (Josh) Carpino, Son Joseph (Angela) Marple, Grandchildren Kennedy, Gage, Dylan, and Gavin. His Nieces Brandy (PJ) Hauver, Kassidy, Valerie, Abigail. Brittany (Wayne) Bernadino. A graveside memorial will be held in his honor May 17th, 2025 at Sunnyside Memorial Gardens on Van Belle Rd at 3:00pm followed by a karaoke reception at Sunnyside V.F.W. Come join us and rock out in his honor.
