Guadalupe M. Cruz

Guadalupe M. Cruz, age 87, of Sunnyside, WA went to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 8, 2019. Guadalupe was born on January 22, 1932 in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico the son of Celerina (Marquez) and Aurelio Cruz.  Guadalupe married Santos Gallegos in Edinburg, Texas on September 28, 1954.   He worked as a farm laborer during his working years. 

Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Santos Cruz of Sunnyside, WA.  Children Juan Cruz of McAllen, Texas, Roberto Cruz of Yakima, WA, Jorge Cruz of Yakima, WA, Manuel Cruz of Grandview, WA, Guadalupe Cruz Jr. of McAllen, TX, Aurelio Cruz of Sunnyside, WA, Virginia Cruz of Yakima, WA and Ernestina Cruz of Sunnyside, WA.  He also is survived by 31 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren.  Guadalupe is preceded in death by his parents Aurelio and Celerina Cruz and son Marcario Soto Jr. in 2018.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019  from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, WA.  Burial will follow at the Outlook Cemetery.  Those wishing to sign Guadalupe's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
