Hector Cerrillo passed away peacefully at his home on 12/04/2023.
He was born is Weslaco, TX 1/20/1954.
He was a loving husband, son, brother, dad and a friend to many.
Hector loved the great outdoors. Camping, hiking and rocking hounding.
He was a master craftsman. (Wood working, knife making, remodeling, etc.)
He served in the U.S Army for 6 years before being honorably discharged.
He was an M1 armored crewman. He won numerous awards demonstrating a new military tank
before high-ranking U.S Military and European allies in Germany.
After discharge he went on to work 30 years in the construction industry as a superintendent and
he retired at the age of 55.
He is survived by his best friend and wife Susan Cerrillo, 2 daughters Melissa and Chelsey
Cerrillo, stepchildren David Russell, Jeremy Russell, proceeded in death by Jessica Lopez, Brett
(Dawn) Russell, Monica (Junior) Gonzales, proceeded in death by his father Juan Cerrillo Sr.
survived by his mother Eusevia Cerrillo, sisters Linda Palomarez, Betty (John) Sanchez, Elsa Sanchez and Cristina Cerrillo and brothers Juan (Adriana) Cerrillo Jr, Jaime (Gloria) Cerrillo. 27 Grandchildren, 6 Great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 2:00 p.m. and Funeral Liturgy at 2:30 p.m. and to finish with Military Honors at 4:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.
