Helen Maxine Ripplinger, age 87, longtime Grandview, WA resident passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Union Gap, WA. Helen was born on April 26, 1933 in Delta, CO the daughter of May (Hovis) and Benjamin Raymond. She graduated from Toppenish High School. In 1953 she married Vernon Burns and they raised four girls, Linda, Sandra, Kathy and Vernadean. After Vernon and Helen divorced, she married Joe Ripplinger.
Helen enjoyed family get togethers, gardening, knitting, and crafting. She was a wonderful cook and shared her cooking talents at church whenever needed. Helen loved to dance and enjoyed the parties at the Senior Center, where she volunteered to serve lunches. She was a special lady had lots of friends who will miss her laughter and quick wit. She was also a member of TOPS.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Sandy Burns, Kathy Butler and Vernadine Erickson. Grandchildren, Shawan Barnes, Angel Davis, Shane Mitehell, Joanie Groller and Richie Slover, Jordan Burns and Breanna Bohnas. Great Grandchildren, Alisa Harley, Kyra Jenson, Braydyn Davis, Bailey Raymond, Kyler Ramsey, Abigale Vasquez, Benjamin Burns and Jason Burns. She is preceded in death by parents, Benjamin and May Raymond, husband Joe Ripplinger, brother Arthur Raymond, daughter Linda Drake and grandchildren, Ronnie Burns, Jeremy Burns, Rachel Butler and Linda Butler.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with at the Smith Funeral Home, 512 E. 4th St. Grandview, WA. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Grandview Cemetery.
