Irene Garza, 68 Grandview, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2021.
Irene was born on January 7, 1953, in Eagle Pass, Texas to Jose Angel Sanchez and Josefa Garza Sanchez. On June 17, 1970, Irene married the love of her life Genaro Garza in Grandview, WA.
Irene lived an amazing life and was known for having a heart of gold. She instilled many family values to her family and made friends everywhere she went. Her loving personality was on full display working as a classroom aide at Inspire Development Centers. Irene enjoyed going to work every day to go see her “other children that she loved and adored”.
She loved her family traditions and being in the company of her children and grandchildren. Making her delicious tamales every year for Christmas followed by mole and elephant ears on New Year’s Day. She cherished spending time with her family and the memories created. She insisted on making crafts for birthdays and holidays. She was a loving and caring person that everyone admired, she has left a footprint in all our hearts and will be dearly missed.
Irene is survived by her husband, Genaro Garza. Children; Sulema (Isidro) Caballero, Genaro (Nicole) Garza, Sergio (Monique) Garza and Alejandro Garza. Grandchildren; Marissa and Vanessa Caballero, Ta, Luciano, and Neeko Garza, Liliana, Azalia and Sergio Jr. Garza. Great-grandchildren; Atenea Gonzalez-Garza and Elijah Garza.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Angel Sanchez and Josefa Garza Sanchez, Sister Maria Valero and Grandchild Ta Garza.

Visitation will be at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview on Thursday, November 11th at 6:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grandview on Friday, November 12th at 10:00 am with burial to follow at the Grandview Cemetery.
