Our beloved son, Jacob Matthew Guerra Chavez went to be in the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from his home in Spokane, WA. Jacob was born on Tuesday, December 27, 1994 in Sunnyside, WA the son of Katrina A. Guerra and Horacio Chavez. Jacob received his education in Spokane, WA and graduated from Roger’s High School with the Class of 2013. Following graduation, he worked various jobs in the Spokane area. He with his high school sweetheart Jessica Mendez had two daughters Janessa “Nini” and Jayleen “Lili” which Jacob loved and adored. He is also survived by his parents Horacio Chavez (Claudia) of Mexico and Katrina Guerra (Nico) of Yakima, WA. Sister Jolysa Chavez (Daniel) of Spokane, WA and brother Jadrien Chavez of Sunnyside, WA, Grandmothers Emilia Guerra of Sunnyside, WA and Graciela Chavez of Yakima, WA. Numerous aunts, uncles and one nephew Zayvian. Finally, his buddy and canine companion, Grudge.
Jacob enjoyed hiking, barbeques, cars especially his 1978 and 1979 Monti Carlo’s. Spending time with his daughter’s was by far the most enjoyable.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, WA. Burial will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
