It is with heavy hearts that we lay to rest the body of our beloved father Javier Salgado, who passed away on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, of Huntington’s disease, in Sunnyside, Washington at the age of 84. Javier was born March 13, 1941, in Guerrero, Mexico the son of Juan Salgado and Consuelo Roman.
In 1970, Javier migrated to Forest Grove, Oregon from California, and in 1971 he married Graciela Torres of Forest Grove, Oregon.
They both worked for Birdseye in Portland for 2 years. The following year he followed his brother-in-law, Baldemar Torres, to the lower valley in Washington, living in Toppenish Washington, working for Snow & Sons at the time, then decided to settle in Granger, Washington.
Javier loved being outdoors and visiting with his grandchildren. He loved cutting his yard in the summer. Anything that had to do with being outdoors, he loved. He then worked as a foreman for 15 years, JC Tate Farms, in Outlook, Washington. Javier also enjoyed going to the casino and playing with his dog and listening to music.
Javier is survived by his daughter Lilia Salgado, of Yakima Washington, as well as his sons, Javier Salgado of Kennewick, Washington, and Elias Salgado of Yakima, Washington, as well as a granddaughter, Anisa Diaz, of Yakima Washington.
He is preceded in passing by his wife, Graciela Torres, and his older brother, Felix Salgado, Rey Salgado, his father, Juan Salgado, and his mother, Consuelo Roman.
