Jean Dale (Skyles) Tegarden 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 11, 2024 and is leaving a void that will not be filled.
Jean was born in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas on May 6, 1933 to Olen Dale and Robbie (Spence) Dale. She was their third child and grew up with two brothers and a sister on the family farm. Jean was the first graduate in her family in 1951.
She came to Washington State March 1954. This is where she met Howard Skyles and they were married in October of that year. They had two children. After losing Howard in 1964 and becoming a single parent. She moved to Outlook, Washington to be close to family and raise her children for the next ten years. She found love again and married Robert Tegarden in 1974. They spent many vacations traveling in many states and fishing.
She worked as a phlebotomist at Sunnyside Hospital for over 30 years. After retiring she worked for Dr. Wrung.
Mom loved when we were together as a family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren kept her busy at ball games, fairs, birthdays and weddings. We will miss the card games, fried chicken and her orange pies, most of all this family will just miss her.
Jean is survived by sister, Vona Moser; daughter, Nana (Bud) Dyk; son, Randy (Barb) Skyles; grandchildren, Carrie (Tim) Cooley; Laura (Matt) Petersen; Nick Dyk; Chelsea (Taylor) White; greatgrandchildren, Wiley Dyk, Oaklee White, Wesley White, Tryan White, and Tru White
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Robbie Dale, husbands, Howard Skyles, Robert Tegarden, brothers, CW Dale and JE Dale
Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Oct 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Garden, Sunnyside with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Anchor Point Church in Grandview, WA.
