Jerrydean Rose Mercer passed on October 19, 2023 at the age of 97 years. Jerrydean Mcloughlin was born in Kellogg, Idaho raised in Bonners Ferry Idaho. After graduating from high school in 1944, she moved to Seattle and began working at Boeing driving test pilots to and from the airfield. It was there she met her future husband F. Bruce Mercer, an engineer also working for Boeing. Bruce and she then moved to Condon, Oregon, his hometown, after the World War II effort was winding down. Bruce and Jerrydean joined forces at Mercer-Ashenfelter. While in Condon a family began with the birth of son Lin and daughter Mischelle. In 1969 a Shell Oil Jobbership was purchased in Sunnyside, WA. where they then moved in the fall, renaming the business Mercer Oil. After selling that business Jerrydean and Bruce traveled extensively to all continents except Antarctica when they were not wintering in Arizona or summering back in Sunnyside. Jerrydean was preceded in death by husband Bruce and sister Bernadean, and is survived by brother Herb, Lin and Mischelle, five grandsons and thirteen great grandchildren.
