Joyce Ann Heintz, a beloved mother, nan, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 16, 2024.
Joyce was born to John and Theda Heintz on October 30, 1948 in Prosser, WA. She had three brothers: Jack, Jerry and Jim. Joyce spent her youth in the Lower Valley, graduating from Grandview in 1966. Joyce first worked at the Sunnyside Police Department, where she made lifelong friends and always shared stories of working there. Joyce lived in Grandview until 1979, when she and her family moved to Selah. Joyce always worked hard to provide for herself and her three daughters, Joyce accepted a position at Tree Top. Joyce held many positions while at Tree Top, from working on the lines, to driving forklift and finally retiring April 2018 from HR.
Joyce supported her grandkids and everything they did, from sports, college, travel and especially cherished becoming a Great Grandma. She will be remembered by her desire to travel as much as possible, her creativity when it came to anything crafty, always being a fierce protector and her strong independence. Everyone knew her as someone they could always count on and she leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters: Annette O’Farrell, Michelle Mendoza (Fred) and Kari Bewick (Joe) along with all her grandchildren Jared, Derek, Brandon, Courtnee, Alyssa, Brittnee, Jordan, Morgan, Nate, Riley, Felicity, Josie, Trinitee and Reese, 10 great grandchildren, brother Jim (Jeri) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, John and Theda Heintz, and her brothers Jack and Jerry.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Inurnment will follow at the East Prosser Cemetery.
