Juan Gonzalez Sr.

Juan Gonzalez Sr. age 78 of Sunnyside, WA, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 in Sunnyside, WA. Juan was born November 25, 1946 in Edinburg, Texas the son of Lorenza Flores. He received his early education in Edinburg, Texas. In 1963 the family moved to Sunnyside, WA. Juan continued his education by getting his G.E.D. and later attending Perry Technical in Yakima, WA. Juan worked in various agricultural jobs and also at Darigold. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, watching movies and writing his own songs and poems. Juan loved working on cars, spending time with family and friends and having coffee and cheeseburgers every day. Juan was usually on the go and rarely stayed in any one place too long. Always saying, “I gotta go,” even when he had nowhere else to be.

Juan is survived by his children Juan (Becky) Gonzalez and Senaida Gonzalez, grandchildren Freddie Perales, Daneill (Joey) Tristan, Juan “J.T.” Gonzalez III, Stephanie (Jorge) Arciga, Nathan Gonzalez, Kayla Gonzalez, Sierra Gonzalez, Izaiah Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez,  Zaiden Gonzalez and Delilah (Tyler) Esqueda, Great Grandchildren Amayah Tristan, Ethan Tristan, Kendrix Tristan Keenan Tristan, Julianna Gonzalez, Nathan “N.J.” Gonzalez Jr., Javian Rangel,  Alahni “Skinny” Gonzalez,  Haeleigh Esqueda and Kaeleigh Esqueda. He is also survived by his siblings, Albert (Mary) Andrade, Ricardo (Martha) DeLaRosa and Felipe (Becky) Tijerina. He is preceded in death by his mother Lorenza Flores and three brothers Pedro DeLaRosa, Joe Andrade and Javier Tijernia.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at the Outlook Cemetery, Outlook, WA.  Those wishing to sign Juan's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com  Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
