Karen Porter Obituary

Karen A. Porter, age 71, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in Yakima, WA. Karen was born on January 2, 1952, in Toppenish, WA. The daughter of Margaret A. (Whiteside) and William H. Oswalt. She graduated from A.C. Davis High School with the Class of 1971. On June 21, 1975, she married the love of her life Kenneth S. Porter. Karen worked for Snokist Cannery, Oxford Suites. She enjoyed making crafts, playing bingo and cards, talking on the phone, and watching TV game shows and wrestling with her husband. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family and sharing stories about them to whoever would listen.  Karen was a happy go lucky person and she shared her joy wherever she went. Karen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Yakima, WA. Karen is survived by her husband Kenneth S. Porter of Yakima, WA. Children Victoria (Paul) LaFramboise of Moxee, WA and Kandi (Erik) Porter of Mesa, Arizona. Grandchildren Sasha (Jeffery) Baker, Kody (Kaylee) Pomerenke, Kyle (Kaci) Pomerenke, Camren (Kalaina) Triplett, Ayla Pearson, and Danielle Pearson. Great Grandchildren Chantel Baker, Ember Baker, Jaselyn Baker, and Kassie Pomerenke.  She will be joining her parents William and Margaret Oswalt, and grandson Ryder William Pearson in Heaven. Services will be held on December 13, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.
