Keith Fansler Obituary

Keith Fansler, age 85, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his home in Benton City, WA.  Keith was born on December 28, 1937, in Russell, Kansas the son of William and Norma (Finney) Barryhill.  On April 19, 1969, Keith married the love of his life, Alice Faye Boyle.  Keith was an honorable Navy veteran, retiring as a CPO after 20 years’ service.  While in the service Keith played football for Navy Proteous Pakers. Following his military duty Keith moved to Sunnyside in 1978.  He, with his wife Alice, owned a small grocery store and appliance repair shop in Outlook, WA.  In his spare time Keith loved to read and play golf.  He was always busy creating and building anything that came to his mind.   Keith was a member of the Sunnyside V.F.W.  

He is survived by three daughters, Penny Gebhard (Rick) of Yakima, WA, Marcia Schaneman (Rod) of Drummonds, TN and Kim Killian of Benton City, WA.  He is also survived by grandchildren Chris Benham, of Munford, TN, Jeff Curry of Yakima, WA, Traci McNabb of Bartlett, TN, Brad Stills of Benton, City, WA, Jason McNabb (Morgan) Stationed in Germany, Heidi Buhrman of Wenatchee, Justin Gebhard of Boise, ID, and granddaughter in law Kami.  He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and one great great grandson on the way. Keith is preceded in death by his parents, William Barryhill and Norma Finney.  Eight siblings Joan, Roger, Dave, Jim, Billy, Marilyn, Carol, Maggie and son in law, Aaron Rivard.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Keith Fansler online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
