Larry Cassity Sr. Obituary

Larry Clinton Cassity, Sr. went to heaven to be with the Lord on October 18th, 2019. He was surrounded with love by his wife and 3 children. Larry was admired for being loving, thoughtful, sincere and a great friend to all who knew him.

Born in Caney, KS in 1937 to Claud and Edith Cassity, Larry would see the arrival of 5 siblings through the years, Ron, Virginia, Diana, Doug and Janice.  As a young man he moved where the work would take his father. It’s been said his mom could pack a house in two hours if needed.

Riverton, WY would be where he met the love of his life, Carole Boss.  She fell head over heels when she saw the cute boy in tight Levi’s, with a flat-top haircut, that worked at the local Safeway. Larry saved his money and bought a red and black Rambler that he would take Carole cruising around town in and they soon fell in love. With the blessing of Carole’s parents and his promise that she would finish high school, they married in 1960. Over the next five years they would start a family that would grow more love than they could imagine. Three children of their own, Teresa, Debra and Larry Jr, would give them 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, which they loved to spoil.

Larry enjoyed singing with his wife in church and they were the best of fishing buddies.

He provided for his family over the years by working in the Uranium mines, and alongside his wife at the Orting Food Center. He would then settle into his final career in printing sales at Royal Graphics, followed by Valley Press.

With their children grown and raising families of their own, Larry and Carole set forth on a retirement adventure that would yield numerous friends and the Arizona sunshine.

Larry Cassity Sr. is loved immeasurably by his family and friends and will be the center of wonderful memories for years to come.

Larry, we love you and know you are with the Lord and with precious loved ones who have gone before you. The limitations on your body have been lifted and the battle is won. Until we meet again in our heavenly home.

A Memorial Service will be held on the West Side at a later date. Those wishing to sign Larry’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
