Lee Laughlin Jr. Obituary

After the last fifty-some years on the “Laughlin Funny Farm”, Lee was upgraded to his forever heavenly home on October 17, 2025.

Lee was born in Wapato, Washington on February 22, 1937 to Lee Laughlin Sr. and Bessie Jane (Calahan) Laughlin, both deceased. He served in the Military for eight years between the Marine Reserves and the Paratroopers. This time resulted in fond memories of places, events and buddies and some hair-raising experiences.

Lee and his family all enjoyed numerous camping and beautiful equestrian adventures with other like-minded, fun-loving riders, culminating in wonderful lifelong friends. Lee enjoyed all sports, especially auto racing which rated highest, whether driving or as a fan. He shared many adventures with his “special buddies”, hunting, archery, fishing, four-wheeling, exploring and sharing red-neck times.

Lee retired from Pacific Power after about fifty years, ending as a foreman in Sunnyside. He enjoyed the mental and physical challenges of the job and the many friendships.

Lee is survived by his wife LaVerne (Gale) Laughlin and older son Clinton Lee Laughlin. Lee is predeceased by his only sister Dell (Laughlin) Halm, his younger son Lonnie Jack Laughlin (October 7, 2019) and life-long best friend Bob Williams (July 23, 2020).

The Williams Family: Regina, Gena and Kevin and their precious families continue to be such a treasure.

Lee’s family would like to thank Calvary Bible Church in Toppenish for their on-going blessing over many years.

Lee is greatly missed.

There will be no formal funeral service.  Those wishing to sign Lee's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhome.com.  Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
