With deepest sorrow, we announce that Leonel Carrasco Jr., age 37 our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 while in the hospital. “God saw [him] getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around [him], and whispered ‘Come to me.’” Leonel is survived by his loving mom, Angela “Blanca” Fuerte and her husband Eduardo Romero and sister Denise Carrasco. Leonel will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew Ariana, Izabella, Jaylah, and Keon and their father Ignacio Ramos whom he adored with all his heart. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Leonel was born on October 22, 1982 in Toppenish, WA his mother’s first and only son he was raised in the Yakima Valley along with his younger sister Denise who shares fond memories of life. An image of Leonel lying beneath a tree soaking up God’s rays of light is what gives them some peace of mind during these times of sorrow. He was a grown man with the heart of a loving kid that at his best showered affection to his family and friends even though his own hardships at times kept him at a distance. Those who knew Leonel even just a little have lost a shining light in their lives. He could make you feel special with something as simple as a hug. He was so appreciative of the little things in life. Leonel loved to shop especially when his mom would take him. He’d leave the store with a whole new outfit already on him, having changed in the dressing room and paid for of course! Followed by a good meal at Miners and life could not get better than that. But most of all, HOME was what Leonel longed for, coming home especially and upon his leaving, his mom would like him to know from the deepest depths of her heart that her home on earth will forever be his home so long as she resides there and until he can be in her loving arms once more.
