On February 3 , 2024 Louis D. Krebs passed away peacefully in Prosser WA.
Louis D. Krebs JR was born Sept 5, 1934 in Wichita KS as the oldest son to Louis and Alma (Hand) Krebs. He moved to Granger WA in 1944 where he attended elementary and high school. He moved to Sunnyside in 1950 where he worked at Texaco and Shell service stations. Shortly thereafter, he returned to the family excavation business, Krebs and Sons.
On May 14, 1954 he married the love of his life, Dorothy Hoff in Ritzville WA. They began their married life in Sunnyside WA. They welcomed their two daughters Donna and Diana and built their life around their family and friends. He then joined the Millwright Union Local 1699 where he began his long career as a Millwright working on 11 of 14 dams on the Columbia River, His favorite and longest assignment being Grand Coulee Dam. He also spent many years working throughout Washington, California, New York and Alaska. His most memorable assignment being Terror Lake in Kodiak Alaska.
His hobbies included building race cars and supporting his best friend, driver, Frank Jamison, as part of his pit crew. Spending many Sundays racing at both Sunnygrand Speedway and Yakima Speedway. He also enjoyed Nascar, gambling and enjoying a cold one with his buddies.
Louie is survived by his two daughters Donna (Mark) Wyatt and Diana (John Alba) Johnson. Sister-in-Law Jody Krebs. Grandchildren Andrea (Loren Copeland) Smasne, Seth (Sara) Johnson, Megan (Chris) Wyatt-Ball and Ryan Johnson. Great grandchildren Jack and Emme Smasne, Christina, Hailey and Tyler Ball, Colby Dion, Cooper and Gunnar Johnson. Numerous nieces and nephews. Special lifelong family and friends Bob Johnson, Jerry Monroe and Leland Blankenship.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy. His parents Louis and Alma Krebs, his brother Donald Krebs and sisters Geraldine Razey and Erma Wallawine and Great granddaughter Nolie Kay Wyatt-Ball.
