Louise Marie Roehl Age 85 of Sunnyside WA entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, October 8th 2023 at her family home, surrounded by her loving sons.
Louise was born to Oliver W. Walker and Linnie Dee Walker (Dugger) in Sayre, Oklahoma on August 21, 1938. She attended and graduated from Sunnyside High School with the “Class of 1956”. Louise married Ervin A. Roehl at the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church in Sunnyside WA. on February 23, 1957 and attended there for years.
She last attended The First Christian Church and was there organist for over 20 years. Louise enjoyed her early years raising the boys and being a loving homemaker. She will always be remembered for her famous homemade Apple pies and that special touch.
Louise's Love and passion for music, teaching, playing, and her joyous personality blessed her with many years of teaching music from her family home and the little white church behind the old Prosser High school. Louise played for various services from Weddings, funerals, and other venues. For many years Louise taught piano, organ, voice, and some instruments to numerous students in the Lower Yakima Valley. She was always inspired to bless her students with recitals and moments of recognition. Louise enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with Smith Funeral Home as an organist for over 30 years. Her career also involved working as a office nurse for years with Dr. Arnold Tait and Dr. Glenn Skinner of Sunnyside WA until her retirement.
Louise is survived by her five sons, Mike Roehl (Leann) of Sunnyside WA, Russ Roehl (Stephanie) of Johnson, Vermont. Matthew Roehl, of Spokane WA. Randy Roehl (Rhonda) of Mabton WA and Scott Roehl (Lorena) of Prosser WA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ervin Roehl, parents Oliver W. Walker and Linnie Dee Walker (Dugger) of Eugene, Oregon. her brother Ross L. Walker of Portland Oregon. And her sister Joyce J. Walker of Eugene, Oregon.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, October 13th 2023 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Sunnyside, WA. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 14th at 11:00 am at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside WA.
